  • Silver Christmas Tree What You Need To Know Posted By: Tom Moody
published on October 14th, 2008 at 12:14 AM
Fresh cut or artificial Christmas trees, especially silver christmas tree can have a special, mystical aura of love and celebration, memories that most people cherish. And nowadays, many stores around the world display silver Christmas trees during the yuletide season holiday. The first artificial Christmas trees were made of feathers that were dyed green to appear as an Evergreen. Artificial trees have been designed for people who wanted the real Christmas tree without all the hassle and mess of needles. Many families find the idea to display a silver Christmas tree to be the ideal solution for home and their busy lifestyle. Some individuals choose to display a silver Christmas tree because of the restrictions of their homes, while others choose to display an artificial Christmas tree because someone has allergies. For others, these trees look just as realistic and beautiful as a freshly cut tree, and silver artificial Christmas trees are not flammable and do not throw needles. Some artificial trees can be purchased "Prelit", ie already decorated with lights on the branches. The next step would be to customize the tree with your own beads and ornaments to give as holiday look for family celebrations.
  • Is Speech An Acquired Ability? Posted By: Christopher Carlin

Speech is frequently regarded as a natural ability, inherent to every human being and ingrained at birth. Some would argue that regardless of the child's environment during his or her formative years they will eventually learn to speak the language spoken by AND quot;their own kind AND quot;. Science has shown, however, that speech is an acquired ability rather than an innate one, and as such is something that can be taught with relative each. The same principle holds true for acquiring skills in public speaking. A child reared in a household where no speech takes place or a child that is largely ignored by their parents will show a severe delay in the development of their speaking abilities. They will, however, be able to easily imitate the sounds that they are exposed to in the course of their daily lives; the birds in the trees, the dogs in the yard next door, the theme song from a favored television show. The imitation of these noises is an acquired ability, no more inherent than playing the piano or hitting a baseball.
